My trip to a conservation center in Zanzibar was such a fun and unique experience! It felt like stepping into a little wildlife haven, where I got to interact with so many amazing animals. The absolute highlight was playing with the monkeys. They were so curious and playful, hopping around and grabbing bits of food with their tiny hands. Spending time with them was such a joy, and their energy was contagious! I also got to feed an ostrich, which was surprisingly intimidating but super cool. Watching it peck at the food from my hands was both nerve-wracking and hilarious. The center also had antelopes grazing peacefully, and seeing them up close was amazing—they’re such elegant creatures. I spent time with some giant tortoises, which were much calmer but equally fascinating. Feeding them and watching them slowly munch away was surprisingly entertaining! And then there were the crocodiles—while I kept my distance, seeing these powerful reptiles up close was a reminder of how diverse and incredible the animal kingdom is. Visiting the conservation center was not just fun but also a great way to learn about Zanzibar’s wildlife and efforts to protect it. It was such a memorable experience to connect with so many different animals in one place, and it’s something I’d recommend to anyone visiting the island!
