The small town of Ampefy is known for its incredible landscapes, and we set out to see two of its most amazing features—the waterfalls and geysers. We had a few days full of adventure, and the sights were even more spectacular than we’d imagined. We started with the Lily Waterfall, a beautiful cascade surrounded by green hills and rocky cliffs. The trek to get there was peaceful, with gorgeous views along the way, and hearing the roar of the falls as we got closer was thrilling. Standing near the base, feeling the mist on our faces, and watching the water crash down was mesmerizing. It’s one of those places that feels so raw and untouched, and we just wanted to stay there, taking it all in. After the waterfall, we headed to the Ampefy geysers—a totally different but equally amazing sight. The geysers aren’t huge, but they’re still a wonder to see in action. The hot water bubbles up from the ground, shooting steam and mist into the air against the backdrop of the wide, open plains. The sulfur smell was strong, but the experience was worth it! The area around the geysers had a surreal, almost lunar feel to it, and it was cool to witness this natural phenomenon up close. Ampefy gave us a glimpse of Madagascar’s diverse beauty, and exploring the waterfalls and geysers here was unforgettable. It’s a must-visit if you’re looking for stunning landscapes and a break from the usual tourist spots—this place really feels like nature’s secret!
