Our visit to the Cape of Good Hope was an absolute highlight of our time in Cape Town. We spent the day exploring the stunning scenery and even had a few unexpected wildlife encounters along the way! We started by walking up to the famous lighthouse at Cape Point, which offered breathtaking views of the surrounding coastline. The hike itself wasn’t too difficult, but the incline definitely added an extra challenge! Once we reached the top, the panoramic views of the ocean crashing against the rugged cliffs were totally worth it. Standing at the edge of the continent with nothing but the vast Atlantic Ocean in front of us felt surreal. On our way back to the entrance of the park, we were lucky enough to spot some wild ostriches roaming around. It was such a cool, unexpected sight! Seeing these giant birds in their natural habitat, just hanging out by the coast, was definitely a unique experience. We even had to slow down at one point to let one cross the road—it felt like a real African adventure. The Cape of Good Hope itself is a beautiful spot, with dramatic cliffs and pristine beaches. We spent some time wandering around, taking in the views, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. It’s hard to believe that such a wild and untouched place exists so close to Cape Town.
