Taking a cooking class in Milan was such a fun and memorable experience. There’s something special about learning to make traditional Italian dishes right in the heart of Italy, and getting hands-on with fresh ingredients made the whole process even better. The class focused on classic dishes, so we learned how to make ravioli and tagliatelle from scratch, along with a rich and creamy tiramisu for dessert. Rolling out the pasta dough and shaping each piece by hand was both satisfying and a little tricky, but once we got the hang of it, it became so much fun. The ravioli were carefully filled and sealed, and the tagliatelle was cut into perfect ribbons, ready to be cooked to al dente perfection. Everything came together so beautifully, and it was amazing to see how just a few simple, high-quality ingredients could create something so delicious. For dessert, making tiramisu was a dream. Layering the espresso-soaked ladyfingers with mascarpone cream was almost as enjoyable as eating it, and the final dusting of cocoa powder made it look just as good as it tasted. By the time we sat down to enjoy our meal, we were more than ready to dig in. We ended the evening sipping on some homemade limoncello, which was the perfect way to wrap up the experience. The bright citrusy flavor was such a refreshing contrast to the rich meal, and it was the kind of drink that made the whole night feel even more authentically Italian. Cooking, eating, and drinking in such a warm and welcoming atmosphere was such a fantastic way to experience Milan, and it’s something that will definitely stick with us long after the trip is over.
