Hiking in the Black Forest felt like stepping into a fairytale. The trails wound through dense evergreen trees, moss-covered rocks, and peaceful streams that bubbled alongside the path. We explored several different sections over a few days, each with its own character—from quiet, shaded routes deep within the forest to open hilltop paths with sweeping views of rolling green valleys and little villages nestled in between. Along the way, we passed through charming towns where we stopped for lunch or a slice of the famous Black Forest cake, which tasted even better after a long hike. The fresh pine-scented air and the quiet of the woods made everything feel incredibly peaceful, and the weather was perfect for walking—cool enough to be comfortable, with occasional bursts of sun through the treetops. We didn’t have a strict itinerary, which made the experience feel relaxing and spontaneous. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and just enjoy the journey. The Black Forest absolutely lived up to its reputation, and we left already talking about wanting to return and explore even more.
