Copenhagen Adventures

Copenhagen was an absolute joy to explore, with its perfect mix of history, culture, and modern charm. We spent our days wandering through the colorful streets of Nyhavn, admiring the boats docked along the canals and the iconic rows of 17th-century houses, which looked just like a postcard come to life. Walking around the city was easy and enjoyable, and there was always something beautiful or interesting to see. We strolled through the historic center and visited the Round Tower, which offers sweeping views of the city after a spiraling climb. We also made time to see the Amalienborg Palace, where we caught the changing of the guard ceremony, and admired the royal residences surrounding the spacious courtyard. Just nearby, the Marble Church stands out with its striking dome and intricate details. Of course, we couldn’t skip the famous Little Mermaid statue, which is smaller than you’d expect but still worth a visit as one of the city’s best-known symbols. Copenhagen is also packed with green spaces, and we enjoyed relaxing walks through the King’s Garden near Rosenborg Castle, where the beautiful Renaissance architecture and rose-lined paths made for a peaceful escape. We made sure to explore the trendy area of Nørrebro, full of street art, boutiques, and international food options, and also checked out the creative community of Christiania, which has a totally unique vibe and colorful murals everywhere. The food scene here was incredible—Danish pastries for breakfast, smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches) for lunch, and cozy dinners in candlelit restaurants that serve up everything from new Nordic cuisine to hearty comfort food. We also loved visiting the Torvehallerne food halls, where we tried everything from gourmet chocolates to fresh seafood. Tivoli Gardens was a magical experience, even just to walk through the twinkling lights and vintage rides, and it’s amazing how it maintains its old-world charm while being in the center of such a progressive city. Overall, Copenhagen felt like a place that balances its rich past with a creative, forward-thinking spirit—we loved every moment and found it to be one of the most livable, vibrant, and design-forward cities we’ve ever visited.
